A Medieval Shopping Mall where Old and New is melted in one Alley in Salzburg, Austria

Almost all European Cities have their traces from the medieval period of history. Some of them have historical constructions where you can see the amazing power from the past and some of them are so protected that if you not see the new age addings you can believe that you are still in the scene of the medieval days. Such feelings are guaranteed in Austria especially in Vienna and Salzburg which have played important rolls during the medieval history in the European Continent.

Salzburg one of the importnat and fourth largest city in Austria. It is located at the northern boundary of the Alp Mountains and is on the banks on the River Salzbach. As mentioned before the city has many remainings from the old period and the Old Town part of the city which called "Altstadt" in German, is dominated with its buildings constructed in baroque style. You will see many towers and churches and the famous and magnificent Hohensalzburg Fortress at the top of the hill.
While exporing the city you will not miss the Alley called the "Getreidegasse". Many tourists and local people are swarming towards the street which is near to the cathedral of the city. The alley is the best known shopping mall street since the 12th century. The importance of the alley comes from the past which goes back to the Roman time. The road now the alley was the only major road within Salzburg towards Bavaria.
Nowadays, the alley is hosting restaurants, souvenir shops and shops of famous brands. Sure there are also people who live in the buildings but mainly beyond the ground floor.
